Meet our Leaders and Volunteers
At Bright Futures: A JB Foundation, we are dedicated to transforming the educational landscape for children in need. Founded in 2024 by Rohan Cherla in Richmond Hill, our organization is driven by a commitment to provide impactful educational support. Our initiatives include sponsoring a student's three-year undergraduate fees, which can significantly reduce the financial burden on families, allowing students to focus on their studies rather than their finances.
Our team consists of passionate leaders and volunteers who understand the critical role education plays in shaping the future of individuals and communities. Research indicates that every additional year of schooling can increase a person's earnings by up to 10%. By investing in education, we are not only empowering students but also contributing to the economic development of their communities.
We believe that every child deserves access to quality education, regardless of their background. Through our various programs, we aim to foster a supportive environment that encourages academic achievement and personal growth. Our foundation operates on the principle that education is a fundamental right, and we strive to ensure that financial constraints do not hinder a child's potential.
Join us in our mission to create brighter futures for children through education. Together, we can make a significant difference in their lives and pave the way for a more equitable society.

"My parents, are both Indo-Canadians with strong ties both their current homes and India, which means I am constantly in India, particularly in Delhi and Visakhapatnam almost every year, and I’m continually impressed by their splendor. In contrast, I saw extreme poverty, not fitting of such a lovely country. Travelling with my parents, I saw first hand how poverty depreciated the living standards of families. What marked me the most was witnessing young children begging or selling small items on the streets. These scenes made me appreciate my position; it showed me the deep-seated effects of poverty on generations of people, not just families. This is why I started Bright Futures, to not only raise funds to support these children but to also raise awareness of how education for children is drastically different in other parts of the world."

"My personal ties to India, come from my father’s side, having grown up in Mumbai till the age of 17, he kept his attachment to his roots even after 60 years and would regale me with tales of India often as a child. My focus on the BF team is to create a repeatable and streamlined process that is both thorough and quick, leaving more time to both interact with student and support their educational endeavors. Moreover, these new protocols help us acquire insights into the populations that need our support most. Soon after my joining, I was able to establish a database as well as a formalized intake procedure for students to apply. In the future, I’d like to see the BF foundation expand to all of India and of course see it expand into my homeland of Canada."
